Dear Friends,
This surge in COVID-19 cases in Oregon is an urgent reminder that we all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe. That means getting vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already, and getting tested regularly, so we can catch symptomatic and asymptomatic infections early and stop the spread.
Testing is especially important right now following a season of travel and gatherings. Here’s a great tool you can use to find rapid and PCR tests near you, or to find a vaccine or booster shot: https://getvaccinated.oregon.gov/#/locator?lang=en.
If it’s been six months since you received your last Moderna or Pfizer vaccination, or two months since you got a Johnson & Johnson vaccine, now is the time to get boosted. And if you have children ages 5 and up, they’re now eligible to be vaccinated, too. The vaccines are safe, effective, and accessible. There is no time to spare.
If you are already vaccinated, this is a great time to talk to your friends and family to make sure they are taking this important step to stay safe. You can reach out to a trusted health care provider or visit https://covidvaccine.oregon.gov/#questions for more information.
If we all do our part, we can get this pandemic under control and build a healthier future.
