Dear Friends,
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on all of us and we are all ready to return to some semblance of normalcy and stability. One important step toward that end is regularly screening for COVID-19. Having readily available COVID-19 tests is crucial in order to catch asymptomatic and symptomatic infections, which will reduce the impact this virus has on our schools, jobs, social lives, and communities as a whole.
Starting this week, you can sign up to have testing kits delivered directly to your home, at no cost to you. You can pre-order up to four testing kits per household at https://www.covidtests.gov, which will be delivered by the Postal Service within 7-12 days. I encourage you to order tests now, so that you have them when you need them. If you have any issues ordering, you can get extra assistance by emailing https://emailus.usps.com/s/the-postal-store-inquiry or calling the help desk at 1-800-ASK-USPS.
If you are in urgent need of a COVID-19 test due a recent exposure or development of COVID-19 symptoms, please visit https://getvaccinated.oregon.gov/#/locator?lang=en to find a free rapid or PCR test near you and stay home. I also want to make sure you hear about another exciting new development: you can now get reimbursed by your insurer for at-home test purchases.
We will get through this pandemic. As we wait for the Omicron surge to peak, let’s all do our part to keep our communities safe — wear masks, get vaccinated, and get tested.
